I previously had blogged about how much I enjoyed and loved the Rise of the Drow campaign from AAWGames. (Adventure-a-week games – https://adventureaweek.com/)

I have read and subsequently purchased additional adventures published by AAWGames and I continue be blown away. Their printed books and box sets are of the highest quality. I recently purchased the Rultmoork box set and I can’t wait to be able to run it next. Rultmoork, like Rise of the Drow, is original, creative, innovative, and strikes and great balance between an open world and having an over-arching plot that makes the adventure compelling and the quest concise.
The adventures themselves are laid out in a way I have never seen before. The story is broken into chapters and each chapter has two sections. The first section describes the locations, challenges, and settings. The second section then describes how the chapter can be run. This section usually provides options for the Dungeon Master to consider and customize his or her game with. This is extremely helpful as it gives the Dungeon Master fully fleshed out plot options to consider for their game.
One additional benefit of the AAWGames is the fact their titles are on Fantasy Grounds and extremely well done. The conversion is excellent, the maps are high-quality, and the dialogue is very comprehensive.
I am coming to the end of my Rise of the Drow campaign and had modified the campaign to remove some sections that didn’t really fit the type of game my players like. I was looking for some additional content to insert and I discovered AAWGames Mini-Dungeon Tome.
Mini-Dungeon Tome is a collection of 130 ready to run scenarios and quests – think of the old TSR adventures. I quickly browsed through the adventures and they spanned different settings and character levels from 1-20. Of course, it was also on Fantasy Grounds so I can easily add it to my current game.
Was that good enough for AAWGames? Of course not. 🙂
They once again went the extra step and created a Mini-Dungeon Tome Adventure Assistant webpage that allows for easy searching of the adventures to find the perfect adventure for your needs.
The adventure assistant can be found here : http://mdt.aawgames.com/
Given the uneven nature of recent published adventures from Wizards of the Coast, I would highly recommend checking out AAWGames. You won’t be disappointed!
