The party awoke and decided that they would first venture to the wreck of the Golden Crown to investigate the suspected lair of the Sahaugin. Jarl Frostgale offered a bounty to each party member if they could rid his kingdom of the Sahaugin horde. Jarl Frostgale offered 200 gold pieces up front and 200 more gold pieces if they could bring proof back that the Sahaugin horde have been destroyed. The party agreed and set off for the wreck of the Golden Crown.

After travelling along the coast for 20 minutes, the party could see the wreck of the Golden Crown just off the coast.

Lying beneath seventy feet of water on the northern coast of Gundarlun is the wreck of the Golden Crown, a Calishite galleon used to transport precious metals from the now abandoned mine of Berranzo. From the cliffs on the north coast of Gundarlun, the wreck of the Golden Crown can just about be seen beneath the cracking waves. The main mast of the ship sticking up above the water’s surface.

The party members all prepared to adventure and breathe underwater and dove down to the wreck.

After swimming down for some time, the murky skeleton of the wreck began to appear. The timber of the ship was rotted and covered in seaweed and shellfish, and large chunks of the galleon have been torn away by rocks. Clearly, it was once a majestic seafaring vessel, its tall sides decorated with ornate carvings and perhaps once gilded with precious metals. Now though, the ship looks like the carcass of a half eaten whale.

The party swam down to the main deck and were immediately set upon by a party of Sahaugin warriors and their Shark mounts. The Sahaugin warriors were led by two Sahaugin Raiders. The vicious battle was engaged and the party took the fight to the Sahaugin warriors. The Sahaugin raiders initially stayed back and preferred to direct their warriors.

The party heard a sound from the forecastle of the ship and saw two more Sahaugin warriors preparing to man the ballistae. Acanthodoris and Tarin moved forward to the bow to deal with the Sahaugin manning the ballistae.

Eventually the party was able to overwhelm the Sahaugin party and their sharks. The party then took stock of their situation and moved to the stern of the ship to explore what remained of the captain’s quarters.

The party swam forward and found that the door was closed with a chain. Evan David leaned into the door and it flew open. The party swam in and saw that dim light filtered in from shattered windows on the far wall, dappling what was once a lavishly decorated cabin. In the centre of the cabin was a long wooden table, with silver cutlery and candlesticks lying haphazardly atop it. On either wall were wooden desks, above which hung rotted paintings. Everything in the cabin was covered in an inch or more of sand and muck. A thick curtain covered in slimy seaweed splits the room in two.

Evan David quickly pulled back the curtain revealing that the coating of muck and sand did little to disguise this cabin’s former splendour. A chandelier hung from the ceiling, occasionally shedding particles of sand which glitter in the dim light. Toward the stern is a well-stocked bookshelf, the spines of the tomes green with algae. Against the hull is what must have been a bed but wass mounded high with dirt and sand.

Evan David moved forward to disturb the mound on the bed and was shocked when a bloated corpse sat upright in the bed. The corpse turned its head, its eyes burning with rage. The corpse opened its mouth to shout, and dozens of leeches spill out.

The party reached for their weapons.
