The party turned and readied themselves for battle. Hrug led Orcs and Bandits from behind the bar, while Bard and a Minotaur led bandits and Lizardfolk from the lounge. The party could see that there was another level below, but so far they didn’t hear any sounds from below.

Tarin thought quickly and charmed a large number of the pirates including Hrug. This allowed the party to only have to fend off the attacks of half the pirates – a sizable advantage.

Tarin is granted an inspiration.

The party attacked from the staircase, while the pirates started to advance on them. Evan David is never one to fight at a distance and jumped across to the bar to take the fight to Hrug and the pirates by the bar.

The battle was engaged on multiple fronts, but the party was able to advance and eventually deal with the all of the pirates. Soon, everyone was dealt with except for Hrug. Hrug looked above and grabbed a rope hanging behind him.

A bell rang and the rope lifted Hrug up and away . Hrug yelled at the adventurers:

“See you in hell!”

Suddenly, the floors fell out from beneath their feet and they fell to a lower level. The party found themselves surrounded by Sea King Tentrix, Captain Scummer, a Green Slaad, and Descratus Profanis, a Spirit Naga, and a Giant Octopus.

The party moved forward to attack and soon realized the power of Sea King Tentrix and his lieutenants. These were no normal pirates, they all seemed to have been granted powers that were far beyond anything the party had seen. Thankfully, Sea King Tentrix was not in his habitat and his power over the water could not be fully realized.

Desecratus Profanis and Captain Scummer had no such limitations and attacked the party brutally with Desecratus Profanis knocking Evan David down. The party was able to recover and focused their attention on Desecratis Profanis, finally defeating her.

Sea King Tentrix and Captain Scummer were defeated shortly after, with the Giant Octopus providing little challenge.

Evan David finished off the Giant Octopus but not before the Giant Octopus covered Evan David in a stream of Octopus ink with its death shriek.

The party helped Evan David to clean up and rested in Leomund’s Tiny Hut that Tarin had summoned before they explored the hold.
