The party entered the cavern and saw a deep pool of still, stagnant water filling the chamber. It reeked of rotting shellfish and found it was cloudy with a fibrous sediment. Every few seconds a drop fell from the ceiling, sending ripples across the surface of the pool.

Galo cautiously moved across the pool and suddenly three Uchuulons burst forth from beneath the water. Tarin thought fast and was able to cast a spell to hold the monsters and charm them. The party slowly moved forward to explore the chamber while the Uchuulons were charmed,

Evan David decided to move forward and attack one of the Uchuulons, releasing him from being charmed. The party proceeded to defeat the first Uchuulon and move on to attack the other two Uchuulons one by one. The party was able to defeat all the Uchuulons with little trouble with this strategy.

Acanthodoris travelled west to explore another small chamber. The bottom of this cavern sunk down a foot. At the bottom of the cavern was a small jar. Acanthodoris picked up the jar and discovered a brain in the Canoptic jar. Acanthodoris returned to inform the party of what he had found.

The party decided to try and communicate with the brain the in jar and discovered that the brain and was concentrating on a Death Word spell over and over.

The party decided to destroy the brain. They opened the jar and reduced the brain to a pile of quivering grey matter.

Galo then moved north to explore the last chamber and found that the walls of this cavern were covered in petroglyphs. The hideous, unspeakable forms portrayed in the ancient artwork was appalling to behold, and the acts of debauchery in which they are engaged made the portrayals all the worse. Galo also noticed that the Petroglyphs depicted priests warding off strange aberrations with green fire. Finding nothing else, Galo returned to inform the rest of the party.

The party returned south to examine the double doors next to the original cavern that they fought the Gibbering Mouthers in.

The party opened the double doors and found a deep trench lined the edge of this natural cavern, from which green fire belched sporadically. To either side of the doorway were unlit braziers mounted in brackets on the wall.

The party slowly moved forward and decided to light the braziers on the side of the door. They choose to light one of the braziers with the green fire, but foolishly decided to light the other brazier with normal flame from a tinder box.

Immediately after they decided to to light the brazier with a tinder box, a Star Spawn Hulk was summoned from behind them and attacked. The battle was engaged with both sides striking blows before Galo smartly banished the creature from whence he came.

The party continued to open the door to the south and discovered veins of midnight black minerals carved through the rock walls of this huge fane, giving it an unsettlingly visceral look. Two staircases led up to a raised level above which was a broad fissure open to the ruins above. On this level, four braziers of green flame burned brightly, illuminating a haunting ritual sacrifice about to take place.

The party observed four cult fanatics and two kraken priests engaged in the ritual that was overseen by another Star Spawn Mangler and a human thug. One Kraken priest was kneeling down preparing to slit the throats of a sacrifice.

The party moved forward to attack and engaged in ranged attacks to draw them down from the raised level. The Kraken Priest and Star Spawn Mangler attacked while the other Kraken Priest finished the ritual. Once the ritual was finished the cult fanatics moved forward to attack, but stopped at the top of the stairs.

Evan David climbed up the stairs and found out why the cult fanatics were stopped – the stairs were trapped and Evan David fell down into a firepit when he attempted to climb the stairs. Evan David quickly climbed out of the pit and the party quickly moved to kill everyone else remaining.

Just when the party killed the last Kraken Priest, the ritual was complete and the human sacrifice was transformed into a Star Spawn Seer.

The party realized the Star Spawn creatures were being summoned from another plane and the seer was by far the most hideous and dangerous creature they have ever seen. The battle was pitched and every member of the party was inured and bloodied.

The party was able to finally overcome the Star Spawn Seer and he disintegrated until all that was left was a robe.

Galo then summoned Leomund’s Tiny Hut and the party took a long rest before continuing.
